Step 1. Apply

Step 2. If shortlisted, attend an assessment and interview day
- Professional references are sought, and online searches are carried out, for all shortlisted candidates.
- You will be required to attend an interview day, which will include an assessment or the teaching of a lesson (depending on the role applied for).
- The fully-completed self-disclosure form must be downloaded, completed and brought with you in an envelope to your interview.
Step 3. Recruitment checks
- If successful, pre-employment checks are carried out, including an enhanced DBS check.

Full-time qualified teacher
Salary: up to £40,000
Our teachers facilitate highly-effective teaching to our pupils with autism and developmental delays, ensuring learning is tailored to individual needs.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons tailored to pupils with SEND.
- Differentiate teaching to meet EHCP outcomes and individual learning plans.
- Establish consistent routines and positive behaviour support to maintain a safe, structured classroom environment.
- Use assessment and observation to monitor progress, inform planning, and identify next steps.
- Deliver the school curriculum using appropriate resources and work collaboratively with therapy/clinical teams to ensure consistent approaches.
- Uphold safeguarding and welfare procedures and communicate effectively with parents/carers and professionals.
Person specification
Essential
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and successful completion of ECT Induction
- Successful experience teaching pupils with SEND and/or diverse learning needs
- Proven ability to plan, differentiate, and deliver learning aligned to individual needs and EHCP outcomes, adapting approaches for a wide range of communication, learning, and behavioural profiles
- Strong classroom management and positive behaviour support, using a consistent and structured approach within SEND environments
- Strong observational and assessment skills to monitor progress, evaluate impact, and plan next steps/intervention
- Effective communication with parents/carers and professionals, and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Patient, resilient, and reflective practitioner, committed to safeguarding, inclusion, and pupil-centred practice
Desirable
- Experience working within specialist SEND, autism, or alternative provision settings
- Experience working alongside therapists or within multidisciplinary teams (e.g. SALT, OT, Behaviour Analysts)
- Familiarity with autism-specific approaches and structured teaching methodologies
- Experience supporting pupils with complex communication, sensory, or behavioural needs
- Experience teaching pupils who are pre-verbal
